Inbal Lori Weekend

5-6 March 2022

An Intense Weekend of Improv

We are excited to welcome internationally renowned improviser Inbal Lori to Barcelona to teach an 11-hour intensive workshop and perform at the graduation show of Play For Keeps.

See below for information on the workshop, shows, travel and accommodation, and COVID protocols.

About Inbal

Actress, writer, coach, director and improviser, Inbal Lori, has been teaching improv for over a decade, earning a reputation as one of Europe's best teachers and performers. Originally from Israel and now based in Berlin, Inbal will be in Barcelona the first weekend of March.

As a performance artist, she finds she achieves the biggest artistic freedom by combining all her skills into improvisational theater. She realized that the tools of improvisation have the power to develop and transform people’s communication skills, relationships and charisma. In 2015, she moved to Berlin to apply this knowledge in the international artistic and business context. She calls it “Human Communication” and enjoys every second of it!

RESPECT - 11 Hour Improv Intensive

From fully listening to your partner to playing the lowest/highest status in scenes, runs the thin cord of respect.

In this workshop, by exploring the starting point of honor, dignity and respect, we will learn to create an enabling environment, motivated by recognition, trust, freedom, creative joy, and lack of judgement. This will lead you to perform the best fun and creative improv ever!!!

We will explore how such trust enables us to explore deeper and darker aspects of relationships and dynamics in order to create reflective scenes exploring all kinds of truth.

Time and Date: 11:00-18:00 on Saturday 5 March and 11:00-17:00 on Sunday 6 March (with lunch breaks)
Location: Swing Maniacs (Gracia)
Price: 150€ (includes one transferable admission to an improv show featuring Inbal Lori and the students of Play For Keeps on 5 March at 8pm)

Double Bill: Play For Keeps & Diaspora

Play For Keeps is an 8-week course pushing improvisers to create scenes that have higher stakes and emotional depth. They play scenes that matter, where the audience is compelled by the characters and relationships on stage, making strong choices, reacting truthfully, and playing with integrity. These scenes can be comedic, dramatic, or a delightful mix of both.

Diaspora features Inbal Lori and Noah Levin, long time theatre professionals, who each honed their crafts in their homelands before moving to Europe to share their unique approaches to improvisation. Coming together for this show, Inbal and Noah will take stories from the audience about traveling, migrating, finding new homes and new communities, sharing and interpreting them through improvisation.

Time and Date: Saturday 5 March, 8pm-10:30pm
Location: Tinta Roja (Poble Sec)
Price: 10€ (free for current students of Improv Fundamentals, Play For Keeps, and RESPECT)
